
This category can seem so overwhelming to find clean and toxin free swaps for, but the truth is that there are so many great options! The overwhelming part is that there are a lot of sub-categories under the broad category of “Facial Care”. We have the cleansers, toners, serums, moisturizers, masks, makeup removers, eye creams, and then all the makeup products after that.
I personally like to keep my routine simple for a few reasons; time, cost, and ease. I like to have a great cleanser, toner, and serum on hand, as well as an eye cream and moisturizer. However, sometimes we need to have some targeted help for different issues that may arise as well. I’ve put a lot of time into finding great options for each of these categories. It was so encouraging for me to put this list together as there were so many more options than I was expecting to find.
I will be doing a separate post here soon on all my favorite toxin-free swaps for your “Make-up Routine” too, but for tonight… here is my lengthy roundup for all things needed to take care of our faces before applying makeup or for the end of the day when we’re removing it.

Non-toxic Face Masks
I have about 20 face masks that are amazing for every possible desired result you could want. This is such a fun category to find clean products for and so many of the masks are beautiful as well, which makes me just want to buy them all! Finding a toxin-free targeted serum is a great compliment to any skincare routine. The following are my top picks and as always, we have several more linked here on our site.
Non-toxic Face Moisturizers
Moisturizers are essential to our skin. I really believe that while our skin can tend to be naturally more dry or oily, we have a great amount of control over how nourished it is by what we eat and how much water we drink. Our skin is a direct result of our insides. We have to eat clean as well as use clean ingredients on our bodies. We must drink a lot of water and it will absolutely show through in our skin! Toxin Free Makeup Remover
Last but not least… I am finishing up this round-up of facial care swaps with make-up remover. I personally love to use my Toups and Co. Cleansing Oil for my makeup remover and it does a great job of removing mascara as well, but these three options are amazing at removing everything as well. You can always use an organic coconut oil like this one too… it’s another great option to stay toxin free and you likely already own it!
Remember, there is no ONE thing that will fix your skin. Beauty is quite literally from the inside, out. While all these products are incredible and are healing for our exteriors, We have to take care of our insides and live an overall healthy lifestyle for our exterior to really look healthy.
Here are my top tips for cleaning up our insides as best we can so that our outsides have that added glow too!
- Eat a nutrient dense, diet full of fruits and vegetables (organic whenever possible), grass fed, hormone free meats, healthy fats.
- Avoid inflammation causing foods like gluten, refined sugars, and dairy (raw dairy is just fine).
- Make sure you’re drinking filtered water with all essential minerals added back in. We LOVE our Berkey water system linked on our site in all the different sizes available. We use this Greenfield water filter and these minerals from Greenfield as well.
- Swapping out toxic ingredients in your home (some links to start with are here, here, and here.
- Working on your sleep hygiene is very important and I will be writing on that soon!
- Exercising daily to sweat and detox, using a sauna is also amazing for sweating and detoxing.
- Fresh air and sunshine daily whenever possible
- Walking barefoot for grounding really helps too!
- Spending time to pray and journal to help manage stress levels is critical
- Don’t forget to REST
