This is a hard article for me to write as I’m still learning how to best combat our pain issues and I’m definitely not an expert in it. Both my husband and myself have struggled with migraines for most of our lives. My mom has as well, and I truly think so much of this can be genetic to a point. Fast forward, and now our kiddos all struggle with head pain at different times as well. Thankfully, none of them seem to suffer to the same degree that we do… but pain is just that… a PAIN!
Knowing the background of horrible migraine pain and then also having some severe back issues that have kept me from sleeping well for years, I can almost say I’ve tried everything out there. I know I haven’t, but it sure feels like it at times.
Our family is very active with sports, work outs, always remodeling a house or two, or just our daily tasks. Being a normal, active family means that we also have normal aches, and pains to address often. So, here are some faves that we’ve found for our family so far and we will continue to add more as we find some tried and true products that bring relief for us.

The next thing that you’ll find us doing (and not just for pain management), is using our Pranamat! We LOVE this! Another GO-TO pain remedy for us are essential oils. We use DoTerra brand EO’s and have been very happy with them. I know everyone has so many opinions about which brand is better and all the things. I just wanted a pure therapeutic grade essential oil and one that WORKED. I know there are many amazing brands, but this is where we settled. These oils are our top picks for pain, and remember to use a carrier oil like fractionated coconut oil or something to dilute them with if you’re applying the oils to sensitive areas or children.

Check PriceOur quick grab items from DoTerra are the Deep Blue Rub and the Deep Blue Essential Oil. I like to rub a couple drops of the EO directly into the area of pain and then layer it with the rub and really work it into the skin. Then, for things that you just feel like you need deeper absorption, I get a washcloth wet with really warm or hot water and lay it on top of the rub. This helps to draw the oil and rub deeper into the area. A lot of people really like to use DoTerra’s Copaiaba EO as well, and while we have it on hand, our first grab is always the Deep Blue. Both Deep Blue and Copaiba have pills available as well. All of these products are great, we just each have to find what suits our families and needs best.
