Your laundry routine is one of the most important areas of your daily life to swap out toxic ingredients.. Since our skin is the largest organ of our bodies, why would we wash and dry our sheets that we sleep in, towels that we dry ourselves off with, washcloths that we wash our faces with, and our clothing that touches almost every single area of our bodies and our families bodies with all these harmful toxins? The toxic ingredients found in common laundry detergents, dryer sheets and all the “smell good” beads soak into our bloodstream through our skin. We are literally absorbing these toxins and breathing them in all day and night through our clothing and linens. Using these products continually in our everyday life builds up toxins in such a way that we overwhelm our bodies with too much toxic burden.
Oftentimes these ingredients are linked to things like asthma, cancer, rashes, headaches, migraines, reproductive and endocrine issues, and can be an irritant to our lungs among other issues.
We’re going to link some easy swaps here for you, and you can easily do a “one-stop-overhaul” of your laundry routine, or you can slowly swap things out one at a time if that is a better financial fit for your family. But, whatever you choose… I suggest that this is the first room you tackle for yourself and those you love. Below are our tried and true products that through much trial and error we’ve found to work the best for us, but I’d love to hear of more “clean swaps” that you may have found too!
